Carless was founded in 1859, helping lay the foundations of the modern fuel industry.

In 1893, Carless, Capel & Leonard coined the word “Petrol”, becoming one of the first suppliers of fuel for early motor vehicles in Britain. From that moment on, Carless has played a defining role in the development of fuels for mobility, performance, and industry.
